How Walmart Fulfillment Service Fees Work
WFS charges per unit based on item size, weight, and category. Fees range from $1.50 for small standard items to $8+ for oversize. Here's what makes up the number.
Base Fulfillment Fee
Covers picking, packing, and standard shipping to the customer. Ranges from about $1.50 for small standard items.
Handling Fee
Varies by category and product type. Different product classes carry different handling costs.
Weight Surcharge
Heavier items cost more per unit — a 5-lb item can jump to $4+, and oversize items go higher still.
Category Markup
Restricted categories (Electronics, Media, Hazmat) add surcharges of up to ~50%. Oversize items have higher fees.

FBM
Fulfillment by merchant — you ship. No WFS fee, and it can be profitable if you ship fast and maintain high ratings. The trade-off: you manage logistics, which costs time.
2-Step Dropshipping
Prep and forward through a warehouse. Often cheaper than WFS when items are heavy, oversized, or in restricted categories.
